There are words that still sit heavy on my tongue —
words I wanted to say but couldn’t,
words I tried to write but never sent,
words that once burned inside me and now haunt the quiet.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had said them.
Would it have changed anything?
Would it have stopped you from leaving, or would it have only made the goodbye hurt more?
I’ll never know — and maybe that’s the hardest part.

I never told you how much I loved you on the ordinary days.
The days when nothing special happened, when we were just living, breathing, existing side by side. I never thought I needed to. I thought you already knew.

I never told you how much I admired the little things —
the way your eyes softened when you laughed,
the way your voice calmed me without even trying,
the way your presence made the world feel safe.

I never said thank you enough —
for the patience, the laughter, the moments of quiet understanding.
I never said sorry enough —
for the times I was distant, for the walls I built out of fear, for the love I didn’t know how to show.

Now, those words live only in my mind.
They echo in the silence like unfinished songs, too late to be heard, too real to disappear.

But maybe words don’t die when left unsaid.
Maybe they stay with us — a reminder of who we were, of what we felt, of what we learned too late to say aloud.

If I could speak to you now, I wouldn’t fill the air with apologies or questions.
I would only whisper this:
You mattered.
You still do.

And though the words never reached you then,
I hope, somehow, they find you now —
in the wind, in the stars, in the quiet places between dreams.

Because love, even when unspoken, still exists.
And maybe the words I never said were never meant to be lost —
maybe they were meant to live inside me, shaping the person I’ve become.
