The Weight We Carry

By

Some burdens are visible — heavy bags, tired eyes, hands that shake under the weight of too much.
But the heaviest ones… you can’t see.
They live inside the mind — silent, stubborn, and relentless.
They settle in the spaces between your thoughts, pressing down on every hope you try to hold.

We walk through life carrying stories no one else knows.
The heartbreak we never spoke of.
The dreams we buried because they felt too far away.
The nights we cried so quietly that even the walls didn’t hear us.

People look at you and see a smile, maybe even strength.
But they don’t see the battles you fight in the middle of the night.
They don’t see the promises you break to yourself because you’re too tired to keep them.
They don’t see how heavy it feels just to exist sometimes.

And yet… here you are.
Still standing. Still moving.
Even if some days, “moving” just means breathing.
Even if your version of strength doesn’t look like theirs.

You may not feel it, but every step you take is an act of defiance.
Against the pain. Against the doubt. Against the weight.
And one day, maybe soon, maybe far from now, you’ll look back and realize—
You were never weak. You were just carrying more than anyone could see.
